What is covered
Warranty cover depends on the grade of the unit you purchase.

“Wind-and-water-tight” means the container keeps weather out under normal conditions when sited correctly and level. It does not mean the unit is airtight, insulated, or free of condensation.
This warranty is in addition to your legal rights
If you are a consumer under Quebec’s Consumer Protection Act, you benefit from a legal warranty of quality that applies regardless of anything written here, and which cannot be excluded or shortened by contract. The cover described on this page is offered in addition to that statutory warranty, not instead of it.
What is not covered
- Surface rust, scratches, dents, faded paint and cosmetic wear — these are expected on used units and are disclosed by grade.
- Condensation, sometimes called “container rain”. This is a function of humidity and temperature swings, not a defect, and it is pronounced in the Quebec climate. Ask us about vents or insulation if it is a concern.
- Damage from siting the container on soft, uneven or unstable ground, or from frost heave where no adequate foundation was provided — both can twist the frame and stop the doors sealing.
- Damage caused by modification, cutting or welding carried out by anyone other than us after delivery.
- Damage from misuse, overloading, accident, vandalism, fire, flood, ice loading or extreme weather.
- Normal wear on moving parts — door gaskets, hinges, locking bars and handles — after the first 30 days.
- Consequential loss, including damage to goods stored inside the container.
Conditions of cover
Warranty cover requires that the container has been:
- Sited level, on a firm foundation, with support at all four corners, adequate for seasonal ground movement.
- Maintained reasonably — doors lubricated, drainage and roof kept clear of standing water and snow load, damage to paint touched up to prevent rust spreading.
- Not modified structurally by a third party.
Making a claim
Email info@gtcontainerservices.ca with:
- Your order number and delivery date.
- A description of the fault.
- Photographs showing the fault and the container’s siting and foundation.
We aim to respond within 3 business days. We may arrange an inspection. Where a claim is valid we will repair the unit, replace it, or refund a proportion of the price — the remedy is agreed with you.
Transferability
The cover described on this page is offered to the original purchaser and is not transferable if the container is sold on. Statutory warranties may transfer independently of this policy.
