Website security
This website is served exclusively over HTTPS with a valid TLS certificate, so information you submit — including checkout details — is encrypted in transit. The store platform and its components are kept patched, and administrative access requires strong, individual credentials.
Payment security
We do not store card numbers or full banking credentials on this website. Card payments are handled by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified processor — the card fields at checkout are served by Stripe, so the numbers never reach our servers.
Bank payments are arranged against an invoice issued to you, using Interac e-Transfer, EFT, wire or certified cheque. Banking details are issued on that invoice and should be verified by telephone.
Protecting yourself from container fraud
Fraud is common in the container industry, and the most frequent form is invoice or banking-detail interception. Please follow these rules on every order — with us or with anyone else:
- Our banking details never change mid-order. If you receive an email saying they have, it is not from us. Stop and telephone us.
- Verify by phone using the number published on this website, never a number supplied in an email.
- Check the sender domain. Our only email domain is @gtcontainerservices.ca. Look carefully for lookalike spellings.
- We never request payment by gift card, cryptocurrency, money order, or peer-to-peer payment apps.
- Be wary of prices far below market. A container advertised well under the going rate, with pressure to pay quickly, is the classic fraud pattern.
- Verify the corporation. G.T. Container Services Inc. is federally incorporated, corporation number 442541-3. You can confirm this yourself on the Corporations Canada online database.
Your account
If you create an account, use a unique password that you do not use elsewhere, and do not share it. Tell us immediately if you believe your account has been accessed by someone else.
Access to your data
Order data is accessible only to staff who need it to process, deliver or support your order. Carriers receive only the information required to complete a delivery.
Reporting a security issue
If you believe you have found a vulnerability in this website, or you have received a suspicious message claiming to be from us, please tell us at info@gtcontainerservices.ca.
Please include enough detail for us to reproduce or verify the issue. We will acknowledge legitimate reports and will not pursue action against researchers who report in good faith and do not access other customers’ data.
If you think you have been targeted
Contact your financial institution immediately — speed matters more than anything else with a wire transfer or e-Transfer. Then contact us so we can check whether your order was involved, and report the incident to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre (antifraudcentre-centreantifraude.ca) and to your local police service. In Montréal, that is the SPVM.
